About
Haematology is the scientific study of the blood and the body tissues that make it. A Haematologist is a doctor who specialises in diagnosing, treating and managing diseases of the blood and the blood producing organs (bone marrow, spleen and lymphoid tissues). Haematologists also specialise in transfusion medicine and how other disease states affect the blood. Examples of diseases haematologists treat include blood cancers such as Myeloma, Lymphoma, and acute/chronic Leukaemias. They also care for patients with thrombosis (blood clots) and bleeding disorders such as haemophilia. Some haematologists are also qualified haematopathologists and work in laboratories assessing diagnostic materials.
Our suite, located at the Wexford Medical Centre, is a purpose built consulting office, that offers a comfortable and relaxed environment for your appointments.
